Case Study - a single source of truth (SSOT) from questionnaire builder through to data repository
The client ran both ad-hoc and tracking studies, across multiple countries and in multiple languages. They had their own insourcing capabilities and a Forsta license available for survey scripting and hosting but also relied on 3rd party online panel companies and some smaller independent service providers to deliver “full service” project set up, management and data processing when team resources were stretched or projects were particularly complicated.
Their clients required data outputs in combination of formats including, SPSS, tables and “Q ready” files. Reports were delivered for clients in Powerpoint as well as via custom dashboards created in Displayr and Looker Studio by Google.
The client did not have a centralized database solution in place and project data files were stored separately in various different formats and different locations including; locally, in SharePoint and Google Drive.
The client wanted to centralize their data production process, automate the manual tasks, create a single source of truth ‘SSOT’ across their assets and start to create a series of benchmarks from their historical data sets that could be easily queried in the future and to automate scoring for particular insights products.
Sequence created a single process across the business for creating questionnaires, managing translations, generating fully branded, bespoke design questionnaire Word files for clients and automating the scripting step for survey set up in Forsta. We removed the manual data processing steps and automated the ‘Q ready’ file outputs. We created a centralized, cloud based, data repository for all survey data which allowed even the most ‘non-technical’ staff to query the database. More technically advanced data science staff could access data via API to perform advanced analysis using tools like R and Python easily.
The client was able to have their internal teams and external providers work across the same centralized questionnaire and data assets in real time, in the cloud and with a single process and in-built quality control mechanisms.
